Tenerife - São Miguel - Graciosa - Corvo - Flores - Faial - Pico - Terceira - Santa Maria - Madeira (13 Days)

Get to know eight of the nine islands of the Azores on this unforgettable cruise to the archipelagos, before disembarking on another beautiful sub-tropical Atlantic island, the wine-making jewel of Madeira.

São Miguel offers the craterous lake of Lagoa do Fogo, followed by the beautiful waterfall of Caldeira Velha, where the thermal pools are perfect for bathing.

The twin lakes of Lagoa das Sete Cidades, in the crater of a long dormant volcano, are a verdant idyl truly befitting of the island’s nickname, Ilha Verde; or choose to visit the crater of Furnas, for a chance to try a traditional local dish that is prepared underground using natural volcanic steam.

On the White Island of Graciosa, book a panoramic journey to the volcanic vent of Furna do Enxofre, one of the largest lava caves in the world, or discover how the Azore’s famous Queijada da Graciosa pastries and Aguardente brandy are made, before sampling!

Step ashore on Corvo, the smallest of the Azores, followed by the spectacular lagoons and landscapes of Flores. Go off-road on a jeep safari across the rugged island of Faial, to the lava fields of the Capelinhos volcano.

The little island of Pico is the perfect place to take a boat trip, for a chance to spot some whales and dolphins in their natural habitat. Or be transported across the island to the World Heritage wine-growing region of Criação Velha, on a trip that also includes a visit to the famous Whaler’s Museum.

On Terceira Island, volcanic caves and local wine await, as does the historic capital city of Angra do Heroísm.For the more adventurous take a scenic hike through the coastal forests of Agualva.

Explore the “sunny island” of Santa Maria on a Jeep safari and on Madeira, relax on a panoramic trip filled with bursting flowers, when you visit the spectacular botanical gardens.
