Passau - Budapest - Passau (8 days)

Day 1 - Arrive in Passau

Fly from London to Munich and transfer by rail to vessel. Embarkation from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.

Day 2 – Krems

Arrive 12:15pm - Depart 6:15pm

Cruise through the UNESCO World Heritage Wachau.The city of Krems offers a variety of cultural, historical and culinary experiences. You will encounter its thousand years of history in the streets, squares, as well as the old churches and monasteries and other buildings. During a guided walk, you will explore the different sides of the city further. After a short bus ride you will arrive at Goettweig Abbey. The Abbey is located on a hill from where you will enjoy a beautiful panoramic view over the Danube river. In 2001 the Benedictine monastery was also added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage. The Imperial staircase with its impressive ceiling fresco is one of the most beautiful and biggest stairwells in Europe. Additionally, you will visit the beautiful apricot garden which is a perfect location for the tasting. After enjoying the incredible view of the Danube, we will return to the ship.

Day 3 – Esztergom

Arrive 10:30am - Depart 4:30pm

Excursion to the imposing Basilica of Esztergom, the largest church in Hungary, in the former Hungarian capital.

Evening light tour by ship with live background music.

Day 4 – Budapest

Arrive 8:45pm (day before) - Depart 8:45pm

City tour through glittering Budapest with its impressive buildings. Puszta tour with a traditional riding demonstration.

Day 5 – Bratislava

Arrive 1:45pm - Depart 11:00pm

Bratislava city tour: Bratislava is located in the immediate vicinity of the border with Austria and Hungary in the fertile Danube plains, south of the Little Carpathians. The old town has been magnificently renovated with great attention to detail. When visiting Bratislava, we will first drive through the embassy district to the castle (Hrad), which towers high above the city and is considered its symbol. There you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the city. Here you will also find more information on the eventful history of the castle, which was the residence of numerous Hungarian kings for a long time before Maria Theresa settled there. On the walk through the old town of Bratislava you will see the redoubt, the National Theater, the town hall and some baroque palaces and the city gates that the k.u.k. Testify monarchy. Among other things, you will also get to know the most famous man from Bratislava, the Gullimann Cumil. Enjoy a Slovakian hot chocolate afterwards.

Evening light tour through Bratislava up to the castle with a view of the atmospheric sea of lights.

Day 6 - Vienna

Arrive 6:30am - Depart 6:30pm

Guided city tour through Vienna: From the jetty it goes past the "New Vienna" with the Uno City and the Danube Island. See imposing magnificent buildings such as the State Opera, the Burgtheater, the Hofburg, the Parliament, the City Hall and the Votive Church while driving along the famous Ringstrasse. Afterwards on the tour, you will experience this charming city and its world-famous “Viennese charm” up close. After about 30 minutes of free time, the bus awaits for the return trip and takes you past the Praterstern and the trading quay back to your ship. Then, time to make your own discoveries.

Visit to the imposing Schönbrunn Palace with its idyllic gardens.

Day 7 – Ybbs

Arrive 6:00am - Depart 1:00pm

Visit to Maria Taferl, one of the most significant places of pilgrimage in Lower Austria and its impressive Basilica. Visit to the imposing hydroelectric power station Ybbs-Persenbeug.

Day 8 – Disembark in Passau

Disembarkation until 9:30am. Transfer by rail to Munich Airport or add a city stay (prices on request).
