Passau - Southern Hungary - Budapest - Passau (8 days)

Day 1 - Arrive in Passau

Fly from London to Munich and transfer by rail to vessel. Embarkation from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.

Day 2 – Vienna

Arrive 1:00pm - Depart 11:00pm

Guided city tour through Vienna: From the jetty it goes past the "New Vienna" with the Uno City and the Danube Island. See imposing magnificent buildings such as the State Opera, the Burgtheater, the Hofburg, the Parliament, the City Hall and the Votive Church while driving along the famous Ringstrasse. Afterwards on the tour, you will experience this charming city and its world-famous “Viennese charm” up close. After about 30 minutes of free time, the bus awaits for the return trip and takes you past the Praterstern and the trading quay back to your ship. Then, time to make your own discoveries.

Heuriger excursion to a typical rustic Viennese wine bar or classical concert with resounding melodies from Strauss and Mozart.

Day 3 – Esztergom/Budapest

Arrive 12:00pm - Depart 3:30pm

Excursion to the imposing Basilica of Esztergom, the largest church in Hungary, in the former Hungarian capital. Excursion to Budapest at night with Hungarian music.

Day 4 – Mohács

Arrive 10:00am - Depart 5:30pm

Excursion to Mediterranean Pécs, one of the most beautiful cities in Hungary.

Day 5 – Budapest

Arrive 9:00am - Depart 9:00pm

Guided city tour through Budapest: Budapest is certainly one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and is not without reason called the "Queen of the Danube". The river divides the Hungarian metropolis into the districts of Buda and Pest. First we will drive through the city center and enjoy the flair of the city. With the Buda Castle, the Fisherman's Bastion and the Matthias Church, the castle district tells of glory of the ancient times. Afterwards, continue to Gellertberg, where you can
take a short photo break to enjoy the impressive view of the Danube and the buildings on the banks of the river, as well as the numerous bridges in Budapest.

Explore the interesting and unknown corners of Budapest by foot or Puszta tour with a traditional riding demonstration.

Day 6 - Bratislava

Arrive 1:45pm - Depart 6:30pm

Bratislava guided city tour: Bratislava is located in the immediate vicinity of the border with Austria and Hungary in the fertile Danube plains, south of the Little Carpathians. The old town has been magnificently renovated with great attention to detail. When visiting Bratislava, we will first drive through the embassy district to the castle (Hrad), which towers high above the city and is considered its symbol. There you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the city. Here you will also find more information on the eventful history of the castle, which was the residence of numerous Hungarian kings for a long time before Maria Theresa settled there. On the walk through the old town of Bratislava you will see the redoubt, the National Theater, the town hall and some baroque palaces and the city gates that the k.u.k. Testify monarchy. Among other things, you will also get to know the most famous man from Bratislava, the Gullimann Cumil. Then, time to make your own discoveries.

Day 7 – Melk

Arrive 12:00pm - Depart 3:30pm

Cruise through the UNESCO World Heritage Wachau. The baroque Benedictine monastery Melk towers impressively above the city at the entrance to the Wachau. Melk has been a spiritual and
cultural center of the country for more than 1,000 years. The pen has become known literarily, among other things, through Umberto Eco's novel “The Name of the Rose”. The imposing baroque building is a visible expression of the importance of the pen in that period. After the tour of the Abbey, you still have the opportunity to explore the outdoor facilities yourself before the bus picks you up and brings you back to the ship.

Day 8 – Disembark in Passau

Disembarkation until 9:30 a.m. Transfer by rail to Munich Airport or add a city stay (prices on request).

All other guided tours as described in the itinerary are included in the price. Arrival and departure times are guidance times. We reserve the right to change itineraries and excursion programmes.
