Passau - Southern Hungary - Budapest - Passau (8 days)

Day 1 - Arrive in Passau

Passau: Casting off 5:00 p.m.
Fly from London to Munich and transfer by local rail services to vessel. Embarkation from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Day 2 – Vienna

Vienna: Mooring 1:00 p.m. - Casting off 11:00 p.m.

City tour/walk through the traditional City on the Danube Vienna with St Stephen’s Cathedral, Hofburg and the ring road.

Join us on our sightseeing tour in the traditional Danube metropolis Vienna. The bus will take you along the Uno-City and Danube Island. You will see impressive buildings such as the state opera, the Burgtheater, the Hofburg, Parliament, town hall and Votive Church along the famous Ring Road. During a guided walk, you will experience the special atmosphere of this charming city. After some time of leisure, the bus will take you back to the vessel.

Excursion to a typical rustic Viennese wine bar or classical concert with resounding melodies from Strauss and Mozart.

Day 3 – Esztergom / Budapest

Esztergom: Mooring 12:00 p.m. - Casting off 3:30 p.m.

Excursion to the imposing Basilica of Esztergom, the largest church in Hungary, in the former Hungarian capital.

Budapest: Mooring 7:30 p.m. - Casting off 11:30 p.m.

Excursion to Budapest at night with Hungarian music or impressive light tour on land and on water with the river rider  bus.

Day 4 – Mohács

Mohács: Mooring 10:00 a.m. - Casting off 5:30 p.m.

Excursion to Mediterranean Pécs, one of the most beautiful cities in Hungary.

Day 5 – Budapest

Budapest: Mooring 9:00 a.m. - Casting off 9:00 p.m.
City tour/walk through glittering Budapest with its impressive buildings.

Budapest is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and is also called the "queen of the Danube". During your city tour by bus and by foot you will see for example the castle district with the fisherman’s bastion and the Matthias Church. Afterwards there will be a short photo-stop on Gellerthill to enjoy a wonderful view over the city.

City walk "Budapest impressions" and journey on the oldest underground train in the European continent or a Puszta tour with a traditional riding demonstration or actively experience Budapest on bicycle tour.

Day 6 - Bratislava

Bratislava: Mooring 1:45 p.m. - Casting off 6:30 p.m.
Bratislava city tour through the lovingly restored lanes of the old town and a trip to the castle, the city’s landmark, followed by time for a stroll on your own.

Close to the border to Austria and Hungary, Bratislava lies in the fertile Danube plain south of the Little Carpathians. First you will have a short bus tour that will take you up to the Fortress. You will be impressed by the wonderful panoramic view over the city. Learn more about the interesting history of the fortress which used to be the residence of numerous Hungarian kings in the past. Afterwards you will explore the beautifully restored Old Town with its baroque buildings such as the Redoute, National theater, the Town Hall and palaces which remind the visitors of their glorious past during k.u.k. monarchy. Among other things, you will also get to know probably the most famous man of Bratislava, Gullimann Cumil.

Day 7 – Pöchlarm

Cruise through the UNESCO World Heritage Wachau.

Pöchlarm: Mooring 12:00 p.m. - Casting off 4:30 p.m.
Visit to the imposing Schallaburg Castle followed by cider tasting

Day 8 – Disembark in Passau

Passau: Mooring 8:30 a.m.
Disembarkation until 9:30 a.m. Transfer by local rail services to Munich Airport for return journeyt home or extend your stay with a City Stay Package (prices on request).

The excursions marked in bold are optional and can be booked individually on board at extra cost. All other guided tours as described in the itinerary are included in the price.
