Lisbon - Port Santa - Funchal - Santa Cruz de Tenerife - San Sebastian - Las Palmas (8 Days)

Set sail from the Portuguese metropolis of Lisbon, across the Atlantic Ocean to the sunny Flower Island of Madeira, on a cruise that’s perfect for escaping the wintery cold weather.

The Portuguese capital’s lively blend of culture, history and cuisine is sure to impress. Highlights include the historic Belem Quarter, the Belem Tower, the Monument of the Discoveries and the Monastery of Jeronimos.

In the chic seaside town of Estoril, see the iconic casino that inspired Ian Fleming’s first James Bond novel. Sintra is a picturesque village filled with charming narrow roads and lush greenery. Returning to the Portuguese coast, the traditional fishing town of Cascais has been a popular holiday resort for well over a century, or you may like to enjoy a panoramic trip to Azeitão, for a visit to a local wine cellar and a tasting.

Go off the beaten track on a tour of Madeira’s smaller sister island, Porto Santo, or hike to the summit of the volcano-like Pico do Castelo, which dominates the landscape.

Discover why Madeira is the “Island of the Eternal Spring” on a panoramic trip that also includes the famous botanical garden. In Tenerife, take a day trip through Las Cañadas National Park to the highest mountain in Spain, the dormant volcano of El Teide, where the crater is over twenty-nine miles in circumference. Or take a scenic tour to the former capital of La Laguna, for a visit to a local bodega and a tasting.

When Christopher Columbus set sail on his epic voyage of discovery, his final stop for supplies was the tiny island of La Gomera, a place of deep green forests and steep mountains. Take a panoramic trip to the northern part of the island, or enjoy a hike through the stunning Garajonay National Park, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986.
