Only opened in 2003, traditional architecture and local stone have been used to blend in with the local surroundings and its stunning location provides breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the village.
Steeped in history and tradition, Valldemossa was the village where Chopin, the Polish composer, resided with his lover George Sand, the French writer, causing great scandal in 1838. She wrote fondly of her experiences in a book entitled ‘A Winter in Majorca’. Other more recent residents are the film stars Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones, who frequent the hotel’s restaurant and others in Valldemossa.
There are just 12 rooms in total; 3 double rooms in the main house and 9 suites which have been cleverly incorporated into the grounds. The hotel has a maze of stairways adjoining each of the rooms although a lift accesses the main reception areas and restaurant. Each of the spacious rooms have been individually designed and are equipped and furnished to the highest of standards. The suites have private walled terraces or balconies where guests can relax and enjoy the fresh mountain air and the spectacular views.
The large landscaped gardens incorporate a swimming pool, sun terraces and immaculate lawns surrounded by ancient olive trees. There is also an indoor pool, sauna and jacuzzi.
The renowned hotel restaurant allows guests to dine outside enjoying views towards the Valldemossa monastery and the most beautiful sunsets on the island.
This delightful hotel, with its refined restaurant and tranquil surroundings, make it a unique place in Europe.
