Hotel Caloura has been recently refurbished and is particularly popular with British guests. It is a family run hotel and is located at the edge of the very picturesque fishing harbour of Caloura.
The hotel Caloura enjoys a magnificent setting overlooking the ocean and within a 15 minute uphill walk you can reach the village of Agua de Pau with its restaurants, bars, shops and bus service.
The hotel has direct access to the ocean and natural swimming pools and there is a small sandy beach 'Baixad'Areira' within 300m. The restaurant, which features local cuisine, and bar have dramatic views of the rugged coast line.
Hotel Caloura also offers a fully equipped Padi Dive Centre which organise group or individual dives along the south coast of Sao Miguel island. This hotel is definitely one of the best in the Azores and especially one to consider for clients staying a week or longer on this island.
